How to Unlock the Power of “My Library” in SermonDone

    Prompts Every Pastor Should Try

    by Jon-Michael Sherman

Imagine having every sermon you’ve ever written or preached—every word, every story, every insight—instantly searchable and ready to help you create your next powerful message. That’s exactly what SermonDone’s new My Library feature delivers.

With My Library, you can upload:

✅ All your written sermons via Google Drive

✅ Every word you’ve spoken from the pulpit via YouTube links

Once your content is in place, the real magic happens: you can talk to your own preaching history and let it shape your future ministry.

Here’s how you can start using My Library today, with real-life prompts to guide you.

How to Set Up “My Library”

Before you can unleash the power of My Library, you’ll need to upload your sermon content. The more you add, the better your results will be when My Library is toggled on. Here’s how:

Upload Documents – Add individual sermon manuscripts, notes, or entire folders from Google Drive.

Upload YouTube Videos or Playlists – Bring in every word you’ve preached by uploading YouTube links. You can upload individual videos or playlists (up to 50 videos per playlist link upload). If you have more than 50 videos, simply upload another playlist batch after the first 50. It is fast, but please don't do double uploads of content, it is uploading in the background, you can exit out at any time while it is loading.

Toggle “My Library” On – In SermonDone, you’ll see a toggle switch for My Library. Turn it ON to include your own sermons in your results, giving you highly personalized insights. Tun it OFF if you’d prefer AI-only content without searching your own material.

For Most detailed results- Use My library inside the Research tab. This can open up larger and longer results from your prompts.

🔎 Tip: You’ll get especially powerful and detailed results inside the Research tools when My Library is toggled on. The most specific you reference a sermon, the more details you can get from that sermon.

    Keep prompting on!

    1. Discover and Reuse Your Own Content

You’ve already preached countless truths, shared powerful stories, and crafted illustrations your people loved. Find them in seconds with prompts like:

“Show me all my stories about forgiveness.”

“Pull up my sermon notes where I talk about spiritual warfare.”

“What illustrations have I used for generosity?”

“Find every sermon I’ve preached on Romans.”

“Show me all my quotes on leadership.”

“List all the series I’ve done on relationships.”

“Which sermons talk about anxiety and mental health?”

“Search for times I’ve mentioned Martin Luther King Jr.”

Instead of flipping through old folders, you’ll instantly see your own words ready to inspire new work.

    2. Write and Draft Faster

Your past sermons aren’t just archives—they’re building blocks for new messages. Let My Library help you draft new sermons or series with prompts like:

“Using my library, help me write a new sermon on prayer.”

“Create a fresh sermon series based on my old messages about marriage.”

“Help me write a new Easter message pulling insights from my past Easter sermons.”

Your past insights become a springboard for your next masterpiece.

    3. Research and Plan with Precision

My Library can help you analyze your own preaching trends and plan future series with data you already own. Try prompts like:

“How many times have I preached on tithing?”

“Compare my sermons on Jonah across the years.”

“Show trends in topics I’ve preached about in the last five years.”

“Help me plan a series on discipleship using my past sermons.”

No more guessing about your coverage of key topics—you’ll have clear insights at your fingertips.

    4. Reflect on Your Preaching Journey

Sometimes you just want to remember your journey, your stories, and the people and moments you’ve shared from the pulpit. These prompts help you look back:

“What scriptures have I used most often in my sermons?”

“Pull out every illustration where I talked about sports.”

“Remind me of stories I’ve told about my family.”

“Find places where I shared my personal testimony.”

Your preaching legacy is valuable—not just for your people, but for your own spiritual encouragement.
